NSA organised Nagarathon – 2k walk event on 2nd of December 2018 and conducted a Bingo game show, the proceeds from bingo was send for drought relief.
We’ve been watching and reading the stories about the current drought and the impact it’s having on farmers, their families and communities and feeling quite helpless.
We’ve never had to endure hardships like many of our farmers are experiencing as a result of one of the worst droughts in our history. It’s hard to imagine having to cull your livestock to put them out of their misery because of starvation or to pay three times the usual price for feed. Historically the rates of suicides in our farming communities are high, but during times like this they go even higher. As a community, we’ve put our heads together and asked “what can we do to help?” because every little bit helps. So NSA organised Nagarathon to support them.
