Mahara nombu / Ambu podudhal
Mahara Nombu is an import socio-cultural annual religious festival observed by Nagarathars and most of the Hindus from ancient times worshipping goddess Durga and celebrating her victory over the mythological demon named Mahishasura.
In our Sangam, we nagarathars celebrate Mahar Nonbu on the tenth day i.e. DASAMI. It signifies the victory of good over evil. VIJAYADASAMI is a day to begin new ventures, be it business or education etc. as it is an auspicious day and assures one of success.
On Vijayadasami, we display Gollu and perform the traditional practice of Ambu poduthal in our Sangam.
